I had one of the best ‘paluto’ seafood feast and it’s damn hard to pick a favorite because all of the dishes served to us were really good. Their cooks made sure the ingredients we picked were cooked exactly as how we’d like it to be. I’ve got nothing but high praises to all the dishes served to us that night, not to mention that their prices are right on the budget so you can actually eat more without hurting your pockets. I’ve heard Chik Chow’s radio ad for some time already but I have yet to personally try it untlrecently. Finally, I got the opportunity to try their buffet which, by the way, is way affordable compared to the mainstream buffets in the metro.
My Uber driver was not familiar with the place, and so am I. We relied on our virtual map assistant, and boy was it tough. Chik Chow’s location is not that visible from the main road. But the good thing is they have a medium sized signage along the highway directing guests where to turn. I’ll make it easier for you, dear readers. Your marker will be the “mini bridge” beside San Carlos High School in Mango Ave. Across that ‘bridge’ is a small alley, that’s the road doing to Chik Chow. Do not hesitate to drive in because there is a big parking space allotted for Chik Chow customers inside.
Chik Chow offers lunch and dinner buffet for only P288.00 daily (except Mondays). They made use of the family’s ancestral house and converted it into the restaurant that it is today. The food business started practically from Chik’s (sir Bochik, owner) passion for cooking. Most of the food they serve are family recipes passed along for generations. If you’re in search of authentic Japanese food, then you must definitely try Tsuki’s delectable meals. At barely three months old, Tsuki Japanese Dining is currently on its soft opening. It is located on the ground floor of Sarrosa International Hotel. I’m such a sucker for Japanese food, so when I had the opportunity to try Tsuki, I was overjoyed! I can delightfully eat Japanese cuisine every day, any day.
Tsuki means “Moon” in English translation. A very fitting name to a Japanese food place as this celestial giant is ever-present in Japan’s rich culture, arts, and festivities. Tsuki Japanese Dining serves authentic Japanese food with genuine Japanese taste. The ambiance has a contemporary Japanese flair where people can get together for a drink of sake or shochu and just be merry.
The restaurant specializes in sushi and sashimi, no ramen in this joint guys. Head chef and part owner, Kazuo Sato, who hails from Osaka, is a decorated chef who has been cooking since he was 14 years old. His experiences from his travels abroad honed his skills in Japanese cooking onto the next level. You may also request for a special order if you wish to have something that’s not on their menu.

The newest Shakey’s restaurant in Cebu finally opened its doors to the public at the 3rd biggest mall in the Philippines. With the recent opening of the SM Seaside City Cebu branch, it only means that Shakey’s SuperCard holders can enjoy more exclusive treats, promos, discounts and other privileges. Mr. Allen Tan, his family and some of Shakey’s top management spearheaded the event. Distinguished guests, SM Seaside Cebu officers, media personnel, and bloggers were invited to witness and partake in the opening. After the ribbon cutting, lunch was served. Our usual favorites like Mojos n’ Dip + Fried Chicken combo, pasta, and pizza were ever present. After lunch, there was a pizza-making activity for the children led by Captain Shakey’s himself.
As of this time, there are 190 Shakey’s stores nationwide. It will continue expanding to new locations so that more Filipinos can enjoy the Shakey’s experience.
