Osmena Peak, Dalaguete Cebu Ph

My first ever successful climb took place at Osmena Peak in Mantalongon, Dalaguete. Towering at approximately 1,000 meters above sea level, Osmena Peak is the highest mountain in Cebu province. With it’s a 360-degree view of nature, Osmena Peak is one of the most celebrated hiking spots in Cebu. It is always great to visit O-Peak (as it is fondly called by some) during the hot season, as the slopes get slippery during the rainy days. Veteran mountaineers who may have done it all but is looking for a fun climb can easily take the trip down south without any fuss. Get those trekking shoes, backpacks and tents ready and join me as I take you to my first ever trek to the breathtaking peaks of Mantalongon. (Yes, there are some groups camp in the premise to enjoy fresh mountain breeze and witness a fantastic view of the stars at night)

Dalaguete is a municipality located 87.7 kilometers south of Cebu. It is roughly 2 and a half hours bus ride from Cebu south bus terminal (an hour or so if you are driving your own vehicle). It is best known as the Vegetable Basket of Cebu. It is also considered as a “little Baguio” due to the spectacular scenery and cool mountain air. Mantalongon is the place where the famous peak is located. There’s a magical rush about this sleepy town, that is why whether you are a novice climber or a seasoned hiker who enjoys the exhilarating experience of conquering another mountain, Osmena Peak is a good choice. Game of Thrones Season 6 Finale Preview

Warning, spoilers ahead. If you have not seen Game of Thrones season 6, episode 9 yet, then don’t go down any further.

We just witnessed an out-of-this-world battle between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton and man, was that enough? Too much, actually. I was out of breath from the second half of the show and was already palpitating towards the end of the battle. I bet the fans of House Stark were about to give up and was ready to surrender to the cruel hands of Ramsay when all of a sudden, help came. The Eyrie, courtesy of Petyr Baelish, alongside Sansa Stark came to the rescue. Does this mean Jon Snow doesn’t have Sansa’s full trust since her last strand of hope is from her late aunt’s refuge, The House Arryn?

Watch Game of Thrones season 6 finale episode premier (courtesy of Game of Thrones YouTube account). The biggest question awaits, will the producers reveal what really happened in the Tower of Joy? Will they finally reveal the truth behind Jon Snow’s real identity? Let’s look for hints in this season 6 finale episode preview and I’ll leave it all to you.

Jollibee’s Halo-Halo Sundae

image

Jollibee recently launched two limitted edition offerings: Adobo Flakes Yum Burger (P59) and Halo-Halo Sundae (P35) in relation to their Proud Pinoy campaign. I have yet to try the adobo burger, but let me tell you more about the halo-halo sundae since I braved the long queue just to try it out.

This pinoy favorite has had several versions over time and Jollibee made sure they have their own twist to it. Using vanilla soft serve ice cream as base (instead of crushed ice) was genius. There is no need for milk and other sweetener since the ice cream does the part 100%. Topped with nata de coco, lanka (jackfruit), red beans, and macapuno as stars of the product, I can only gush about it again and again because surprisingly, I liked it. It’s simple yet super tasty, a sure hit for sweet tooth like myself. The halo-halo sundae is uniquely pinoy from the ingredients to it’s look down to the taste.

Both items were launched on June 1, in time for the celebration of this year’s Philippine Independence Day. Go to the nearest Jollibee store in your area and try these classic Jollibee favorites with a twist of Filipino flavor and together, let’s be one and proud to be Pinoy.

The Mango Farm (a Fruitas Company)

We were just done with dinner when we bumped into The Mango Farm’s stall at SM Seaside Cebu. My eyes caught this very striking picture of their Mango Sago Shake so I immediately stopped and decided to give it a go. I guess a little twist of our usual mango shake is just what we need after a hearty dinner meal. When we checked their menu, The Mango Farm offers a variety of desserts & beverages with mango being the star concoction. They give new meaning to this popular pinoy summer drink.

The staff was nice and answered some of my queries. The company has been in the business for some time. Little did we know, The Mango Farm is associated with the Fruitas Group of Companies – a known producer of fruit shakes and other fruit beverages. Read More »
