Three traveling buddies went on a spur-of-the-moment daycation in Barili, a municipality located 38 miles (61 km) southwest of Cebu City. The word barili came from a local grass growing in the locality named “balili“. During the Spanish regime, most Spaniards find it hard to say balili, therefore it was later pronounced as Barili and that’s how the place got its name. One of Barili’s primary tourist attraction is the Mantayupan Falls.
Mantayupan Falls are located at in the eastern end of Carcar – Barili road connecting the national highway and known as the highest waterfalls in Cebu. Nestled right at the foot of Barili’s rugged mountains lies the two-tiered falls. The water is utilized for hydro electric power system to the locals and nearby barangays. If you happen to be in Tagaytay and on a quest for a perfect dining experience, you might just want to go further down the Tagaytay-Nasugbu road where you can find Twin Lakes, the country’s very first Vineyard Resort Community, a property developed by Megaworld Company that opened in 2014. It’s premier location has that refreshing view of the famous Taal Lake & Volcano including an overlooking grassy terrain with cool, fresh mountain breeze. This, for me, is an ideal match for great food.
We decided to have lunch at Buon Giorno! Caffe & Bistro, a newly opened Italian restaurant that has the best view of the Taal Lake. Buon Giorno is an Italian word for “good morning/afternoon” but my experience was nothing less than the best. They serve authentic Italian food but their menu is also varied – from carnivores to vegetarian to children’s favorites, therefore you can find something that will surely satisfy your appetite. As a certified foodie, my tastebuds know exactly what good food is, and Buon Giorno delivered. They serve gourmet food that brings out the best flavors of my Italian favorites. Read More »

Feast your eyes to the vibrant interior of Be Resort as you step in their hotel lobby. It is a stylish boutique resort in Punta Engaño Rd, Lapu-Lapu City. You will be greeted with leading-edge furniture and fixtures and colorful pastel hues that will give you a familiar sense of home.
BE is smaller compared to its neighboring resort-hotels. I love that it’s small and charming because I’m a sucker for a zen-cozy vibe type of place. I feel close to home and that is what Be is definitely giving to their guests. The interior inside is visually tranquil and the rooms bring contemporary comfort to every vacationer. Room rate starts at P4, 888+/night (rates may vary per season/promotion).
